University of Phoenix
The University of Phoenix doesn’t have anything to offer to individuals who want to become a Licensed Practical Nurse, but for individuals who already have some nursing education and career experience, the University of Phoenix offers several nursing degree programs. Nursing students at the University of Phoenix can work toward a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master of Science in Nursing or Nursing and a related discipline, or a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing.
The RN to Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at University of Phoenix provides opportunities for Registered Nurses to further their education and work toward long-term career goals. The RN to BSN program is designed to build upon an existing nursing education, and includes courses such as undergraduate nursing studies, health care communication, health and chronic disease management, statistical applications, and other nursing-related course studies. Program availability is based on student demand, and may not commence until there is sufficient student demand.
The Master of Science in Nursing program, or the Master of Science in Nursing combined with a related discipline, is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of registered nurses. This program focuses on preparing nurses to function in leadership roles, as well as covering advanced nursing content and process. Students in this program complete coursework related to creating change within organizations, financial resource management, dynamics of family systems, and analysis of research reports.
The Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing degree program offered by the University of Phoenix is designed to help Master’s degree holders develop as an educator, administrator, and in leadership roles within global health care systems. This program includes big-picture focus, such as ethical responsibilities in the field, developing a knowledge-oriented workforce, and effective leadership practice. This program is designed for long-term health-career goals.
