Mildred Elley
Through its School of Health and Wellness Professions, Mildred Elley offers a Practical Nursing certification program to students at its Albany, New York campus. Students who complete the Mildred Elley practical nursing program are prepared to sit for the NCLEX-PN examination and obtain NYS licensure as LPNs.
The practical nursing certificate program prepares students to enter the nursing industry right away, but it also prepares students for continuing education opportunities. Students who complete the practical nursing program can apply their credit-bearing, college-level classes to two-year professional nursing degrees, or four-year baccalaureate programs in nursing.
The full practical nursing program at Mildred Elley’s School of Health and Wellness Professions requires 16 months to complete. Students who have transfer credits that apply to the course studies may graduate in as little as 10 months. The Mildred Elley practical nursing program is only offered in a full-time format, and students will be required to spend between 18 and 28 hours per week on campus or in clinical partners’ sites at various points in the program. Students can take the practical nursing program in day, evening, or weekend formats.
The Mildred Elley practical nursing program provides staggered start dates, so students may be able to enter a division without waiting for an annual or semi-annual enrollment date. Students should contact Mildred Elley directly for information about the next starting date. Mildred Elley does accept transfer credits for the practical nursing program, and students who are interested in transferring credits should contact Mildred Elley directly to determine whether credits qualify for transfer.
To qualify for admission, students must provide copies of a high school transcript, transcripts from all colleges attended, immunization documentation, and documents establishing identity. Students need copies of tax returns and bank statements for financial aid.
