How to Become an LPN in Maine
To become an LPN in Maine you will need to:
- Attend a practical nursing program in the United States.
- Complete an application form, which you can get at http://www.maine.gov/boardofnursing/LPN Examination Application.pdf. The application must be notarized and accompanied by two passport-size photos that are signed and dated as well as the application fee of $50 in the form of a check or money order that is made payable to the Treasurer of the State of Maine. One section of the application form must be completed by the school of nursing. Send the application package to the Maine State Board of Nursing.
- Register for the NCLEX exam at http://www.ncsbn.org/. The exam fee is $200.
- Take and pass the NCLEX exam.
- Receive your license from the Maine State Board of Nursing.
