How to Become an LPN in Hawaii

To become an LPN in Hawaii you will need to:

  1. Attend a Hawaii Board of Nursing approved nursing program. Have the school send a set of official transcripts directly to the Board.
  2. Send a completed application to the Hawaii Board of Nursing along with a $40 application fee. You can get an application form at http://hawaii.gov/dcca/areas/pvl/boards/nursing/application_publications/pvl_nursing_exam.pdf.  
  3. Once you are approved to test, register for and pass the NCLEX-PN exam. You can register online at http://www.pearsonvue.com/nclex. The exam fee is $200.
  4. Receive your license from the Hawaii Board of Nursing.

NCLEX-PN exam results are mailed to you two weeks after the exam.

You can renew your LPN license online at https://pvl.ehawaii.gov/renewals/index.html;jsessionid=BB600DF38A34D32DC563AEFE1C9F5B91.lono between April 20 and June 30 of each year. The renewal fee is $125.
